About Us
Smith Family Farms is located 3 miles west of Historical Pendleton, Indiana just south of State Road 38 on 675 South.  The farm has been in operationfor over 100 years.  It is a working grain and livestock farm with about 3,000 acres planted each year.  The crops are corn, soybeans, wheat and pumpkins.  Smith's have fields of alfapha that they mow and bale each for hay for the animals.

Smith Family Farms also raise Holstein replacement heifers from 2 days old to 24 months.  They are sold to a large dairy farm just before they calve.

Neal and Jennifer Smith raise sheep to sell to 4-H children.  They have about 40 ewes that lamb each winter.  The Smith children also own and show a small herd of Shorthorn beef cattle.

In 2001 Neal and Jennifer Smith were awarded Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmer of the Year award.  The pumpkin patch was started 3 years ago after giving field trips to area schools and day cares for several years.

The purpose was, and still is, to educate people about Indiana Agriculture.
